Mike Petro

Mike Petro was captain of the cross country team in the falls of 2003 and 2004.  He was named to the Second Team All-FAVC Cross Country in 2003 and 2004.  Petro's high school career reached its pinnacle in May of 2005, when he qualified individually in the 3200 meter run to the OHSAA Regional Track Championship in Dayton.  Petro currently runs on the varsity cross country squad for the Case Western Reserve Spartans and specialized in the 5000 meters during track for Case.  Petro was Case's cross country team captain in 2006 and 2007 (as a sophomore and junior, respectively) and earned UAA Conference All-Academic Honors in those two seasons.  A biomedical engineering major, Petro recorded a personal best time of 25:43.75 in the 8,000m run (about 5 miles) at the 2007 NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional Championships.
